Thermax Limited, is an engineering company involved in energy and the environment industry sectors, headquartered in Pune, India having its operation running in 75 countries worldwide

Thermax is one-stop utility partner to both industrial and commercial segments, helping customers achieve better resource productivity and bottom lines while maintaining a better environment.

About the project

The company is leveraging PTC’s industrial IoT Solutions called ThingWorx for building this platform. 

The project is about improving the User Experience of the existing platform considering that the existing platform from Heating Division called Ultramind will also be migrated to Thingworx.

The immediate goal is to design some critical flows & screens keeping usability in mind & present it to the business stakeholders for review.

On a long run, the overall goal is to bring consistency in the application, efficient task completions and effective content presentation across the whole platform.

Business Objectives Summary

Performance Monitoring: 

Track and optimize the efficiency of facilities and equipment, focusing on fuel consumption, automation, and potential cost savings.


Cost Reduction: 

Streamline maintenance via real-time analysis and consulting, minimizing material costs through effective spares management.


System Reliability: 

Implement proactive diagnostics and error prevention to ensure safety and minimize downtime.


MIS Implementation: 

Establish a Management Information System (MIS) to enhance plant efficiency, availability, and control over consumption, costs, and emissions, contributing to customer growth and loyalty.


Equipment Health Monitoring: 

Maintain visibility on equipment lifecycle and operational status to guarantee continuous performance.

Design Goals

  • Design a Dashboard that can be viewed by Management Team to:
    • Analyse Overall Customer Details
    • View Overall performance of the Plant and Site
    • View Equipment Status
    • View KPI’s like Efficiency, Power Consumptions, Combustion levels and Emission Norms.


  • Design a Dashboard for the Operations teams to:
    • Analyse the overall working status of the site and the equipments.
    • Analyse problems and provide recommendations for resolution. 
    • Create Alarms and Triggers related to System Failures.
    • KPI’s like Efficiency, Power Consumptions, Combustion levels, Emission Norms and Downtimes


  • Design a Dashboard for the Engineering teams to:
    • Analyse the overall working status of the site and the equipments
    • View Alarms and Triggers related to System Failures
    • View Call to Action for any recommendations provided by Support Experts and Managers and take adequate actions for resolving issues.
    • KPI’s like Efficiency, Power Consumptions, Combustion levels, Emission Norms and Downtimes


  • Showcase the user experience model across Desktop Web & Mobile Web Devices. 
  • Visually pleasing, futuristic, modern and trendy Interface Design which reflects the Thermax Branding.
